News & Updates, January 16, 2019
Hello everyone!

At our meeting this Sunday we have the privilege of hearing from our Rotary Youth Exchange student, Erick, about life in Indonesia and his experiences thus far in Madison.  As a club we spend a great amount of energy supporting Rotary Youth Exchange, so I’m excited for this meeting as an opportunity for us to further understand how our work impacts the students that we support through the program.

I am also excited to introduce a new member to our club – Casey Collins. Check out his bio below and join us this Sunday to officially welcome him to our club!

In addition to our upcoming events listed below, we have begun planning our YP Week events.  Let us know what ideas you have and how you’d like to be involved.

Keep up the great work everyone – we are off to an excellent start to 2019!

Have a great Wednesday,

Chelsea Sheedy
2018-2019 President

Welcome Casey!
Say hello to our newest member, Casey!

Casey earned his degree in Finance, Investments & Banking from UW Business School and runs his own independent financial planning practice under Waddell & Reed in Madison.   He previously worked as an analyst/lender in commercial banking for Associated Bank, Product Management for CUNA Mutual group and a couple of start-ups.   He's very passionate about helping folks develop financial plans, and currently serves as a financial coach for Habitat for Humanity and helps a willing particpant family in Dane County.   Casey has been a long-time Panelist Judge for the Wisconson Technology Council's Governor's Business Plan Contest, which helps start-up companies create good paying technology jobs in Wisconsin.  He has rightfully earned the reputation as the "Morty Seinfeld" of his condo community for his leadership on the condo board.

Outside of work, Casey has many hobbies and is a guitarist and co-writer for Drive to the Ocean, an all original pop rock group, and an engineer/bassist in Eur.Band, a local Madison "crowd sourced" poetry slam group that will soon be coming to a local establishment near you.   Casey regularly practices hot yoga, and also very much enjoys travel, and learning new international cooking styles.  More recently, he's been enamored with home-brewing komboucha.
Gooollll!!!!
Hungry for some soccer? Forward Madison FC is Madison's first professional soccer team in their inaugural season in USL League One.  We'll be cheering them on in their second home match on May 4th vs. Toronto FC II at the historic Breese Stevens Field.
