This Sunday, January 16, marks the final Sunday evening meeting for our club. Starting in February, our meetings will now take place directly after work (social at 5:15 pm, meeting from 5:45-6:45 pm) on the first and third Mondays of each month. This change was made directly in response to feedback from our members! So don’t forget to note the change on your calendar. Please also note that, due to elevated levels of COVID in our community, this Sunday’s meeting will be Zoom only. We are still planning to go back to hybrid in February, but of course we will keep you apprised of any changes.
We have an awesome speaker and topic lined up for you on Sunday! Paul Hutson, Director of UW Madison Transdisciplinary Center for Research in Psychoactive Substances, will be telling us all about the exciting studies currently underway for using psychedelics, specifically psilocybin, in the treatments of PTSD, addiction, depression, and more. I saw him speak a few months ago at a different Rotary club’s meeting and immediately knew that we had to get him on our schedule, too. Join on Zoom meeting ID 544 062 2028 (passcode MadisonAH).
One last thing that I’d like to bring to your attention is that our club’s board will be presenting the possibility of instituting a minimum participation requirement at the first meeting in February. We will have time to discuss and think about this before voting at a future meeting. Please reach out to me or any other board member to share your thoughts on this topic; we welcome all points of view!
