Greetings fellow AH Rotarians,

I hope everyone is surviving the change of the seasons, the thought of summer lingering till Thanksgiving, or even just Halloween, has clearly been dashed.

Next Monday, October 24, is World Polio Day, a day when Rotary encourages its members to contribute to the cause. Both our district governor, Ben Bauer, and RI president Jennifer Jones have sent messages about this important event.

I don't yet have a forecast for the weekend of the next home Badger football game, but I'm hoping for a mild day, because I plan to be out there peddling Bucky Beads. The game with Purdue is scheduled for Saturday October 22 at 2:30 pm. We'll run two shifts, 11:30-1:30, and 1:15-3:15. Three volunteers for the first shift and four for the second would be perfect. The earlier time would be good for those who plan to attend the game. I'll take names at the club meeting and circulate a sign-up note afterward. Also, we have one more possible date, for the November 5 game with Maryland, time yet to be determined, but I will be out of town. Is there anyone who would care to take the lead for this last sale date?

Please join us on Monday, October 17 at the Park Hotel or on zoom at the usual times (5:15 social and 5:45 meeting) to hear from Scott Strong, executive director of RISE to learn about their mission of supporting early childhood, mental health, and wellness services.
