Greetings fellow AH Rotarians,

And Happy New Year to all. Hopefully, everyone had ample opportunity to spend time with friends and family during the holiday season, and to take a few quiet moments to calm the soul before plunging into the activities of the new year. Speaking of holidays, Monday is Martin Luther King Jr Day, but it has been oh so long since last we gathered, and I do not believe we can put yet another meeting on hold. Perhaps in future years we could meet, just in January, on the second and fourth Monday.

In Rotary, the new year starts with a bang of activity. On Saturday, January 21, the Vibrant Club Workshop will take place either in person in LaCrosse or online, for more information click here.  The Tri-Con gathering for 2023 will also take place in LaCrosse, April 27-29, for more information and registration click here. Both meetings are open to all Rotarians. There are three opportunities for friendship exchanges: in India from February 4 to 14; in Budapest Hungary from April 9 to 19; and in Croatia from September 7 to 18. If you would like more information about any of the three exchanges, please let me know. There is an on-line webinar series, Grow Rotary through Service, with Alex Johnson of the Plano Texas Rotary, on Thursdays this month, the first has already past but there are still two sessions on January 19 and 26, to register click here. And, of course, there is the annual Rotary International convention, this year in Melbourne, Australia from May 27 to 31.

Closer to home, we will have a session with the River Food Pantry on Wednesday, January 25. And our next bi-monthly meeting will be this coming Monday, January 16, at the Park Hotel or on zoom at the usual times (5:15 social and 5:45 meeting). Please join us for our usual activities and to hear from Robert Pero about Canndigenous.
