Hey everyone,

What a great turn out at the last meeting!!! Thank you so much for your support! It was so very nice to see so many in person at the Park Hotel along with those of you that joined us via Zoom. Our next meeting we will be hosting our District Governor Karen Hebert and I would love to give her a Madison After Hours warm welcome. Additionally, I will be holding my first board meeting right before the next club meeting beginning at 5:30 PM (hybrid) where Karen will be joining us. All are welcome to attend!

For those of you that weren't able to join us at the meeting, I wanted to live true to my promise to ensure that members are kept up-to-date on all the club happenings and news:

Vibrant Club Workshop: Sep. 22nd. Organized by Michelle McGrath, 5:30-8:30 pm, In person event:TBD. Madison-area watch party: TBD. The vibrant club workshop will be hybrid this year, though the in-person location has not been announced yet, there is a plan to have a watch party here in the Madison area. The Vibrant Club Workshop is an event put on annually in the fall, designed to share thoughts, techniques, tools, and processes to support our Rotary Clubs in being their best. Past themes have included storytelling and event planning. Open to all Rotarians, with club leaders being especially encouraged to attend.

Rotary Environmental Days of Service: October 4-10th. There is an opportunity for some of the clubs in the area to join in with the Clean Lakes Alliance for a service project. More information to come.

World Polio Day: October 24th. Looking to partner with Great Dane again to do Pints for Polio. More details to come!

Iron Man Volunteers: We will get a $500 grant if we fill 15 volunteer shifts (If the same person signs up for 2 shifts that still counts). The race is Sunday, September 12th, but volunteer shifts are as early as September 9th (helping with athlete check-in).  Shifts are about 5-6 hours. People need to make sure they put the name of our group (Rotary Club of Madison- After Hours) where prompted to make sure we get credit. If members want to volunteer with a friend, the friend can also put in our group name to be counted. Here is the signup link. If you sign, up please email madisonrotaryah.com so we can keep track of the volunteers and ensure we have enough people to fulfill the grant requirement.

Laundromat Libraries: Sounds like those that have library boxes in laundromats are doing well! Brad and myself both have replenished books a few times. We may need to get a system in place to track the impact of this project and how many books have been distributed. If anyone else is interested in setting up a box or if you signed up for a location but haven't yet set your box out, please let us know so we can keep track of where we currently have boxes located.

And finally, just a reminder that if you have any speaker ideas please don't hesitate to share them! You can reach out to Mac Dempsey or email madisonrotaryah.com and I will make sure it makes it to him.

Have an amazing week and stay cool out there!
Yours in service,
