Newsletter for 3 April 2023
Greetings fellow AH Rotarians,

Well, so much for the old saw that March goes out like a lamb, it's been a roller coaster of a month, weather-wise, at least no major disasters here, and there is no sign that the situation will be changing quite yet.

April will present us with a number of Rotary, or Rorary-like, events. The TriCon conference is now less than a month away, it will take place at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse on April 27-29. It is a good opportunity to meet with fellow Rotarians from some not too distant clubs and to be inspired by the speakers who will present at the sessions. A bit closer both chronologically and physically, on Saturday, April 1 from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM, our club will participate in a Habitat for Humanity Build. There are still slots open for anyone wishing to volunteer. On the following Saturday, April 8 from 10:45 AM to 12:15 PM, we have our monthly shift at the Lussier food pantry, and I believe there are still slots available to anyone wishing to volunteer. On the following Saturday, April 15 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, there is a Red Cross sponsored event that fits well into the Rotary concept of service. Sound the Alarm is looking for volunteers to inspect and install fire alarms in, I suspect, primarily low-income housing. Slots should be available for anyone wishing to volunteer. Thank you to Brenda for bringing this event to our attention.

At our last meeting I mentioned the RI webinar series called Cultivating Effective Projects that will be held on alternate Thursdays via zoom at 10AM. The first was on Promoting Projects and was held on March 23. I found it strong on concept, but I would have liked a bit more detail about the implementation. A recording of the first session can be viewed here. The next webinar will take place this coming Thursday, April 6, and will consider Project Planning; here is a link to sign up for this session

Our next club meeting will be at the Park Hotel, or on zoom this coming Monday, April 3, at the usual times, 5:15 for the social and 5:45 for the meeting. It will be a planning session for the upcoming year, so I hope all will be able to attend and all will come with questions and suggestions to make our club as vibrant as possible. Please join us.
