Dear Rotarians, I’m excited to announce that John Marszal has graciously accepted the role of club president for the 2022-2023 Rotary year that will be starting in July! It’s no small ask for a person to take on this leadership role, and I know we will all do our best to support John throughout his journey. With Danielle as president-elect and club secretary, Travis as treasurer, and Casey as membership chair I am confident that this next year will be one of enthusiasm and growth for our After Hours club! The Rotary International Convention starts tomorrow in Houston, Texas. The last time I attended an international convention (Toronto 2018), I was not yet a Rotarian; I was attending as a spouse. That’s when I met past district governor Bill Hoel, and he asked me why I wasn’t a Rotarian. I replied with the truth- that no one had ever invited me to join. He promised me that he would attend my first meeting when I joined a club, and several months later he was there when I joined Madison After Hours. I’m so happy to have been welcomed into your (our!) club. Let’s remember to invite our friends to join us and build a better world for tomorrow. Yours in service, Erin Luken Past President |
