Madison Rotary After Hours Club Newsletter 9.27.21 (Sep 27, 2021)

Hello everyone,

Wow!!! September just flew by! I can't believe that the colors will soon be changing and before you know it snow will be on the ground. I apologize for the lapse in newsletters, time got away from me and next thing I knew the Labor Day break was over, our club meeting was upon us, and I forgot to send one out! For those of you that missed our last meeting, we were able to test out our new technology and it's quite the upgrade! Our camera works better and our sound is enhanced. Those that aren't able to be in person can now hear and see all of us in the room! A special thank you to Connor for writing the grant, selecting and ordering the equipment! I would love to encourage you to come join us (in person or via Zoom!).

Another exciting announcement are some new faces on our After Hours leadership team! I am so very pleased to announce that Danielle Shaw has graciously agreed to be our President Elect! Congratulations Danielle!! I am so very excited to have her by my side and work with her this year to help her prepare for next year as our club president! Additionally, Taylor Eilers has joined our club and immediately jump into our Rotaract Liaison position!

And finally, a few opportunities to get involved. This Wednesday, September 29th, join us at Gib's where we will meet in fellowship and to have a signature community cocktail where $2 of each drink will go to support our club! If you can't join us Wednesday, don't worry... anytime a community cocktail is ordered during the month of September, $2 goes to our club! Tell your friends and share it on all your social media pages! We are also going to try to do some Bucky Beads events. More details to come, but right now there is interest in doing them for the Michigan game on October 2nd and for UW's homecoming game on October 30th. Look for an event on the calendar or an email with information on how to sign up as I know Oct. 2nd is fast approaching.

Join us for cocktails at Gib's! Gib's has created a cocktail in honor of Madison Rotary After Hours and for each of these cocktails sold during the month of September they are donating $2 to our club. We have pledged to donate all funds raised to Polio Plus in the global effort to eradicate polio. Hope to see you there!

Join us as we learn about the history and process behind the award-winnng bourbons produced by J. Henry & Sons bourbon distillery, 20 miles north of Madison!

Saturday, October 9th - Service Event: Lussier Food Pantry

Lussier Community Education Center, 55 S Gammon Rd, Madison, 10:45 am- 12:00 pm (note the time change for this month)
